Some sessions stay with you forever, not just because of the images created, but because of the history behind them. Alexandrea’s bridal portrait session was one of those moments that reminded me exactly why I love what I do.

Eight years ago, I photographed Alexandrea’s senior portraits. She was stepping into a new chapter of life then, filled with excitement, possibility, and that unmistakable mix of nerves and confidence that comes with graduation. Fast forward nearly a decade, and I had the incredible honor of photographing her again, this time as a bride, standing on the edge of another life-changing milestone.

There’s something deeply meaningful about walking alongside someone through different seasons of their life, camera in hand. Watching Alexandrea grow, evolve, and come into her own over the years made the bridal portraits we were creating feel especially personal. It wasn’t just about creating beautiful bridal portraits—it was about celebrating a journey.

We chose Trammel’s Crossing for her bridal session, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The fall landscape there has a quiet elegance to it—rolling hills, warm earth tones, and that soft golden light that seems to linger just a little longer. The brook and stream setting felt timeless, romantic, and grounded, mirroring Alexandrea herself.

As Alexandrea stepped into her gown, there was a calm confidence about her that had grown in the last eight years, not because she lacked it then, but because life has a way of shaping us. She carried herself with grace, warmth, and a sense of knowing who she is. Photographing that transformation was incredibly special.

The fall air was crisp, the light was gentle, and everything about the setting allowed us to slow down and truly savor the moment. We laughed (a LOT), reminisced, and reflected on how quickly time passes, and yet how some connections remain constant.

Bridal portraits are always meaningful, but Alexandrea’s carried extra weight. It was a reminder that photography isn’t just about capturing how someone looks at a particular moment—it’s about preserving who they are in that season of life. From senior portraits filled with dreams of the future to bridal portraits rooted in love and commitment, this session was a beautiful full-circle moment.

To Alexandrea: thank you for trusting me once again to document such an important chapter. It means more than you know to be invited back into your story. Watching you grow into the woman you are today has been an honor, and I’m so grateful our paths crossed all those years ago.

Sessions like this are the reason I believe so deeply in the power of photography… to tell stories, to hold memories, and to remind us just how far we’ve come.
